Benenden Village Hall has a state-of-the-art facial recognition door entry system which can also be used with issued key cards or QR codes to gain access to the building.

Sample QR Code

A QR code (quick-response code) is a black and white image that contains encoded information. QR codes can hold much more information than a traditional barcode and can be used for a variety purposes. Please note that this is not the temporary door entry QR code for your booking. You will have been sent your temporary QR Code on an email.

The Hall Manager is responsible for managing the door entry system and regular hirers will be added to the facial recognition system. Temporary QR codes can be created and issued to persons hiring / using the hall on a one-off or occasional basis. Hirers may share their QR code with other persons requiring access to the hall during their hire period (e.g. caterers) as part of the same booking. QR codes should not be shared with guests. QR codes can be printed off or displayed on a mobile phone / device.

The door entry control panel / camera is situated on the left wall as you approach the main entrance.

STEP 1

  • Stand / move in front of the door entry panel to ‘wake it up’;

(on the left as you face the entrance doors);

STEP 2

  • Select the QR code icon on the screen to use a QR code;

(the camera looks for a face by default and you may need to move out of the camera’s range after the device is out of ‘stand-by mode)

STEP 3

  • Show your QR code to the panel;
  • You will hear the door click unlock and you will be able to pull the door open;
  • The door will automatically lock after a few seconds.
If you experience any difficulties using a QR Code, please contact the hall manager on 07562 993856.

PLEASE ENSURE THE ENTRANCE DOOR IS LATCHED PROPERLY / LOCKED AFTER USE.

NOTE: QR codes only work during the period for which they were created and will automatically expire when this has ended.
