The Main Hall Stage is available for use by hirers of the Main Hall. The stage is raised 1m from the hall floor and measures 6m across (not including the stage wings) and is 5m deep. The stage has numerous sets of curtains and can be used for both amateur and professional performances and is used throughout the year for shows and pantomimes. PLEASE NOTE: The main hall stage is extended by a further 1.25 metres across the full width of the hall during the pantomime season in January each year.

Professional stage lighting is also available and may be hired for use by competent / experienced persons. The curtains are manually operated to provide maximum control / flexibility. See the equipment section for further details.

The stage can be accessed by removable steps in the main hall that can be mounted to the left or right of the stage or, during a performance, by doors on both sides at the rear of the stage from the corridor where changing rooms and toilets, for use by performers, are available. Access can also be gained to the stage area from the communal lobby if required.

The hall’s motorised projector screens are located on the main hall stage for use with the hall’s projector. The projector screens are available to hire at an additional cost and can be used by hirers with their own projector or equipment. See the equipment section for further details.
