If you will be selling and supplying alcohol at your event, you will require a licence to do so. Arrangements can be made to use the hall’s alcohol licence or you can apply to the local authority for a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) that will last for 7 days. A licence will not be required for alcohol being given away providing there is no charge / donation. If alcohol is included as part of a ticket or entrance fee, then a licence will be required.
The communal kitchen has serving hatches to both halls, or the small hall / meeting room is perfect for setting out food and drink for your guests. The hall has two portable bars that hirers are welcome to use.
Alternatively, you may wish to hire the services of a company or public house to attend your event to provide bar facilities. This will not usually require use of the hall’s alcohol licence as they are likely to have their own licence for such events.

The Dawdling Duck is a family business based near Maidstone, in the centre of Kent’s countryside. Their horse box bar is a converted Rice trailer, and although no longer used for it’s original purpose, it still retains and boasts it’s equestrian heritage. Equipped with fridges, and three serving areas (including one that extends from the rear ramp,) The Dawdling Duck can easily cater larger events, parties and weddings.
The Neigh Bar – born from an unloved horse trailer, lovingly restored and converted into the bar.
We are family run and pride ourselves on our comprehensive service and our ability to offer a fully inclusive solution whatever the occasion. So whether you’re looking for a bar for an 18th birthday for 50 guests in your garden or a corporate event or a wedding reception for 300 in a marquee or stately home, we can provide this.
