Small Hall / Meeting Room

The Small Hall / Meeting Room, measuring 8m x 6m, is ideal for smaller events, classes or meetings. It is well lit with windows along the front of the building overlooking the car park and recreation field. There are plenty of power points around the room for your equipment.

The Main Hall and Small Hall are both accessed from the communal entrance / lobby and can be linked via a set of centralised double-doors. Both halls have direct access to the communal facilities including a toilets and a well-equipped kitchen.

If your event needs extra space or is likely to be disturbed (or vice versa) by an event in the other hall, it is recommended that both halls are booked. A discounted rate is offered for hiring both halls together.

The small hall / meeting room has plenty of power sockets (6 double-sockets) for any equipment you need to set up / use.

Both halls have tables and chairs that can be used. Hiring both of the halls together also ensures exclusive use of the building / facilities such as the kitchen and toilets.

To provides hirers with the flexibility they often require, heating and lighting in the small hall is independent from the rest of the building. The small hall is heated by two wall-mounted electric heaters. These are manually operated and can be adjusted or switched on / off by hirers as needed. 

The small hall can be used as a breakout room for an event in the main hall and is often used for setting up a buffet and drinks at parties and functions.

The small hall / meeting room is equipped with a motorised floor-to-ceiling projector screen.

Hirers are welcome to use the projector screen with their own equipment or with the hall’s portable projector which is avialble for hire.

There is a portable flip-chart stand / whiteboard (65 x 90 cm) with extendable legs that hirers are welcome to use for meetings / classes.

The whiteboard uses ‘dry-wipe’ pens which hirers will need to provide. Hirers will also need to provide any flip-charts they wish to use.

There is a magnetic whiteboard (120 x 90 cm) that hirers are welcome to use for meetings and which can be mounted in the small hall / meeting room over the kitchen serving hatch.

The board uses ‘dry-wipe’ pens / noticeboard magnets which hirers will need to provide.

The whiteboard could also be used with flip charts or as a screen for use with a projector.

Benenden Village Hall has a Buffalo 3kW 10 Litre Auto-Fill Water Boiler.

The boiler usually takes 15-20 minutes to reach ‘ready’ state.

Stage Lighting

The stage lighting is controlled by an ETC ColorSource 40 lighting console.

Hearing Loop

The sound system in the main hall incorporates a PDA Range 500/2 Induction Loop Amplifier.

Main Hall Projector

The main hall has a projector mounted on the lighting bar in front of the stage. The projector is an NEC VT670 projector and is operated by a remote control.

The projector has two inputs, a VGA input with an HDMI adapter for use with a laptop; and a video input with an RCA plug (yellow) which can be used with the hall’s DVD player.

Sound System

The main hall is equipped with a sound system and speakers for playing music (recorded or live) and/or using with microphones.

The system is controlled by a Soundcraft Spirit E8 10-channel mixer (8 mono mic/line , 2 stereo line inputs).
