Most days there are clubs and classes at the hall or on the hall’s recreation field. If you are interested in coming along to one of these or attending one of the events please see the contact information below. Please note that some of our regular hirers take a break over the summer period.

The Ami Piper School of Dance offers weekly classes in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Acro, Musical Theatre and Contemporary for ages 2.5+ in addition to Adult Tap and Ballet. Classes and private lessons are held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. From January 2024 there will also be dance classes on Saturday mornings.

The Arts Society brings people together through a shared curiosity for the arts. Their events provide welcoming places to hear expert lecturers share their specialist knowledge about the arts. Monthly lectures take place at Benenden Village Hall for members to attend. These are well attended with a waiting list for those wishing to become members.

The Benenden Players are a group of local volunteers of all ages who get involved on stage and behind the scenes to bring you one major annual show, and several special events throughout the year. They have been ‘playin’ since 1981 and are famous for their traditional Pantos and the occasional musical.

This year’s pantomime is ‘OZ’ written by: James Conmy. Directors: Bev Beveridge & James Conmy. Musical Director: Graham Beveridge.

The FiiT Club – Wednesday mornings (09:00 – 10:00)

At The Fiit Club we focus on strength, form, intensity and recovery. We want our training to give you the foundation that pushes you and enables you to meet your goals, whatever they may be. Our sessions combine strength training and metabolic conditioning enabling you to burn fat and build muscle at the same time. We include a variety of different movements targeting all of the major muscle groups making sure your whole body has had a workout at the end of each session and we even allow you to bring your babies and toddlers along because as mums we understand how difficult it is to find that time to get your workouts in.

I’m trained in Pre and Postnatal, Nutrition Planning and Strength and Conditioning.

FUNFIT – Tuesday mornings (09:30 – 10:30)

Peter Stennett has been running keep fit classes for men and women for over forty years. A former primary school teacher and athletics coach he led the Malling and Sevenoaks School Sport Partnership of over 50 primary schools to become the top partnership in the country. 

Workouts are based on developing agility, balance, co-ordination and strength and is suitable for all levels. A range of individual equipment will ensure you have fun while increasing your skills and fitness. 

Gong Bath with Dawn McKelvie is an oasis of calm for you to come and experience the benefits of the gongs and collection of sound healing instruments. Working on the physical, emotional, mental and energy body. Sound is able to connect on every level! We run from 7:30 pm – 9:15 pm on the third Friday of every month.

Happyface Yoga Baby Classes – from 8 weeks to 1 year. Every Thursday at 12:30.

With lots of singing, movement and interaction, Movers and Shakers incorporates traditional yoga poses and breath awareness into sensory fun. Each week Evie has a different theme for the ultimate sensory experience.

Happyface Yoga Baby Massage – Starting 13th September 13th  at 10:30.

From 13th September 2023, Evie will be starting her “mini movers and massage” classes at the hall.

As a qualified baby massage instructor, Evie will teach you a top-to-toe massage routine with songs and rhymes to keep your baby engaged and relaxed. Evie has kept the class size small and designed it specifically for teeny babies.

Louise is a certified teacher with qualified teacher status and DBS check. Louise has 15 years of teaching experience and will be holding weekly Kent Test Tuition classes at Benenden Village Hall from October 2023 on Fridays (4pm – 5pm).

Pilates classes with Kat from PilatesWise take place every Monday evening at 8:30 pm and, from January 2024, every Wednesday morning at 10:15 am.
 
The classes are aimed at Men and Women of all abilities and are a perfect opportunity to focus on your body, your mind, to build inner strength and stamina and to meet other like minded people as it’s a really friendly welcoming group.

Scottish County Dancing

Scottish Country Dancing @ Benenden Village Hall – Fridays at 10:45 am.

Do join us.  It is friendly and fun and keeps you fit.  Your stamina will increase and your spirits will rise.  You do not need a partner. Maybe you learnt at primary school – just a wee while ago!

You need a pair of soft, flexible shoes and it helps if you know your right from your left!  You will learn some basic steps and moves and have an enjoyable time. Contact: Ros Maggs – 01580 714449 for more information.

The Weald Table Tennis Club, founded at Benenden Village Hall as Benenden TT Club in 1994, has returned to it’s Benenden roots with weekly sessions on Thursday and Sunday evenings at the village hall.

The Village Lunch Club meets at the hall on the second Tuesday of every month. There is always a main course, a pud and coffee or tea, for £5.00.

Weald Power Yoga.
Ruth Allen has been teaching Yoga at the hall for over 5 years now and her classes offer a fun and dynamic yoga experience. Based on the vinyasa flow style of yoga, you can expect a whole body workout and to leave your mat feeling stretched, strengthen and deeply relaxed. Suitable for all levels including beginners. Classes are both energizing and relaxing, the teaching often intuitive and drawn from a variety of traditions and teachers Charlie studied with over the years, ranging from Ashtanga yoga in Mysore (Charlie studied in India for over a year in 1999) to Inner yoga, a more Vanda Scaravelli-type yoga.

Hearing Loop

The sound system in the main hall incorporates a PDA Range 500/2 Induction Loop Amplifier.

Main Hall Projector

The main hall has a projector mounted on the lighting bar in front of the stage. The projector is an NEC VT670 projector and is operated by a remote control.

The projector has two inputs, a VGA input with an HDMI adapter for use with a laptop; and a video input with an RCA plug (yellow) which can be used with the hall’s DVD player.

Sound System

The main hall is equipped with a sound system and speakers for playing music (recorded or live) and/or using with microphones.

The system is controlled by a Soundcraft Spirit E8 10-channel mixer (8 mono mic/line , 2 stereo line inputs).
